Description

General Description of the Role

The Innovation Projects Manager (IPM) is part of a team designed to execute the Campari Innovation Process, supporting Innovation Project leaders in defining and driving the Innovation Project Plan and coordinating all functions involved in the Innovation Process.

Mission/Objectives

  • Drive New Brand/Products projects execution, with a special focus on Luxury and Extra Luxury (Rare) initiatives, in support of Marketing Project Leader, to ensure best time-to-market and resources allocation (internal resouces’ effort, cost and investment) as well as consistency with consumer brief.
  • Be the Partner & Consultant of our internal Customers (GSM/local Mktg/CCM) to jointly design their NPD agenda as feasible according to Group available resources.

Key Responsibilities And Activities

Project Management for Innovation projects to be driven through Toll Gates

  • Initiating - Performing the work to authorize a new project and define its scope adopting Toll Gate governance process to obtain sponsor approval and commitment.
  • Planning: Performing the work to define the project scope (included Make or Buy), develop the project management plan, and identify and schedule project activities ensuring the use of change control process and procedures communicating with key stakeholders
  • Executing: Performing the work in the project management plan to accomplish the project objectives under the project scope statement verifiying task completion as defined in the project plan, managing performance gaps and ensuring a prompt escalation of issues when needed. Takes part in the monthly Springboard meetings, liaising with the PLM Director and completing relevant documentation
  • Closing - Performing the work to formally terminate a project and transfer the completed product to operations or to close a cancelled project executing closure activities for the project closing all related financial activities and preparing detailed post launch analysis and, documenting and pubblishing lessons learned from a business/ operational perspective as well as on project management side
  • Monitoring/ Controlling: Performing the work to compare actual performance with planned, to analyze variances, to assess trends to effect process improvements, to evaluate possible alternatives, and to implement appropriate corrective action as needed

Active participation to Quarterly Innovation&Renovation Pipeline Review:

  • Facilitate a constant idea sharing to feed pipeline as early as possible, with all ideas needed to achieve Brand Strategy.
  • Support Mktg in forming the idea, by providing: high level indication on SC capability, complexity & timeline; scenario options to simplify (reduce time/cost/risk) and maximize value .

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Ensures timely and proper Innovation Project Portfolio Reporting, in line with the requirements of Campari Innovation process as well as PLM Director guidelines and deadlines for NPD and Supply Chain led initiatives
  • S u pport dashboarding process

Key Relationships

Internal : R&D packaging, R&D liquid, quality, Supply/Demand Planning,Engineering, GSM/Local Marketing/CCM, Global FP&A Marketing and Regional/Local SC FP&A

External: Suppliers, Co-packers, Third party agency and Specialized bottler and packer

Experience Required

  • 5+ years project management experience working in the Luxury packaging Industry ( having worked on bespoke glass and outer cases for luxury spirits is a plus)
  • Experience in working on NPD Innovation on H i gh end luxury production
  • Successful track record to effectively lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Luxury Whisky Expertise: Learnt from working in whisky producers with luxury brands knowledge is a plus
  • Bachelor Degree in relevant disciplines (Industrial Engeneering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management,)
  • PMI® certification (is a plus)
  • Fluent in Italian and English, French is a plus

  • Experience in business case definition (Brand/Product Profitability, Return on Investment, Financial planning and analysis)
  • Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of integrated SC operating model
  • SAP/Project management programs experience is highly desirable
  • Expert user of MS Office tools (Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
