citizenM is looking for an enthusiastic head of media & customer communications, unlocking the next opportunity for citizenM. You will lead the Media & Customer Communications Marketing function, responsible for the strategy and day-to-day function of all campaigns optimised against awareness, reach, engagement, membership sign-ups, and revenue.
In this dynamic role, you will use your experience to drive our media and customer engagement strategies, and elevate our communications to the next level with an omnichannel, customer-first approach. This role is pivotal in driving the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team and overseeing paid marketing initiatives such as display advertising, radio, out-of-home (OOH) campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CRM, solid understanding in media planning, customer engagement, and a passion for creating impactful marketing campaigns that drive customer growth.
Given the high importance of this role, we are looking for a servant leader who can inspire a Team of 4, a solid marketer with a clear passion for digital innovation, extensive experience in product marketing, and a love for the travel industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify the best media placements and CRM tactics for reaching our target audience.
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies across multiple channels, including CRM, display advertising, radio and out-of-home (OOH).
- Management of the Media & Customer Communications team, including agencies.
- Negotiate with media vendors to secure the best rates and placements for advertising campaigns.
- Monitor and analyse the performance of campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to optimise results.
- Collaborate with creative teams to produce compelling and effective marketing materials for various media channels.
- Work closely with the marketing, sales, and product teams to align media and customer communication strategies with overall business objectives.
- Coordinate with analytics teams to measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing and CRM initiatives.
- Act as a growth coach to team members, providing guidance and mentorship to help them develop their skills and achieve their career goals.
- Contribute to the commercial success of top line revenue, direct revenue, secondary revenue (F&B, meetings and groups), and membership growth.
Qualifications / skills
- Experience in B2B/B2C product marketing and CRM.
- Proven success in creating and executing robust Marketing strategies.
- Extensive experience with Paid Media and Attribution models (last click, econometric study, awareness studies).
- Motivated self-starter, process-oriented with high attention to detail
- Target and & driven team leader
- Familiar with Agile methodologies
- Approachable, inspiring, collaborative team leader who loves to work hard and play hard

Location / hours
- Voorschoten Support Office. Hybrid working is possible, two to three days in the office per week. Not fully remote. This is a full-time role.
