Career Opportunity - Disaronno International USA is searching for a Business Development Director – Republic National Distributing Company to join our team. The role will be based in California or Texas. The ideal candidate will have deep business acumen, an entrepreneurial spirit, sense of urgency and the scale of ambition to grow our business in the US Market.

The Business Development Director will be responsible for the following –

  • Lead, direct and manage a team of Region/Area Managers and Market Managers to engage with the retailers and RNDC distributors/brokers to achieve company's sales objectives.
  • Maintaining complete understanding of RNDC wholesaler organization & operations.
  • Full P&L responsibility to deliver companies financial objectives.
  • Achieve assigned distribution, sales, merchandising and profit goals.
  • Identify and execute Regional & State initiatives along with business development opportunities.
  • Increase company brands' penetration/presence in Major National/Regional targeted Off/On-premise accounts.
  • Maintaining and enhancing key account relationships.
  • Establishing annual, quarterly, monthly distribution and promotion objectives.
  • States Included: Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, California, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Iowa, Ohio, West Virginia, Mississippi, North Carolina, West Virginia, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Indiana, Kentucky

Planning -

  • Set State Goals that improve distribution, merchandising, promotion, market share, and profitability.
  • Sets account visit, accounts sold, and placement goals.
  • Works closely with VP of Sales to drive channel strategies and tactics.
  • Monitors competitive pricing and opportunities.
  • Maintains Key Account Plans: annual, quarterly, monthly.
  • Works closely with distributor/control state operations manager to maintain strong inventory position for all products & sizes.

Implementation - Flawless execution of mission-critical programs according to annual calendar.

Analysis/Evaluation - Provides on-going analysis/evaluation on distributor sales performance versus Budget; monitors retail prices, provides monthly reports on all programs.

Experience -

  • Minimum of 15+ years’ sales & management experience in consumer goods, preferably in the wine & spirits industry; supplier experience preferred.
  • Experience as a Regional Manager/Director, with proven track record.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team; the ability to motivate and influence others who are not in a direct reporting relationship may be required as well.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and listening skills are required.
  • Superb financial analysis skills.
  • Passionate about customer advocacy.
  • Deep understanding of changing market dynamics & trends.
  • Must be able to interface with various levels of management at wholesale, retail, agencies and intermediaries.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity of RNDC Distributor Trade Practices and Marketing guidelines are required.
  • Understands retail pricing strategies and have worked with retail pricing in the past.
  • Proven Strategic and Persuasive Communication skills.

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent, MBA Preferred.
