    SUMMARY

    \n\n

    The Warehouse Team Lead (Picking) is responsible for supervising and planning outbound shipments and customer communication activities daily, including labor scheduling, space, equipment and manpower utilization. People management responsibilities include training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems.  Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager or Branch Manager, the team lead is responsible for supervising the Auditing, Packaging and  of products in a manner consistent with company and Customer service requirements and cost objectives.

    As part of the DSV team, associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality.   Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    \n\n
      \n
    • Plans the daily work schedule by reviewing existing Sales orders and instructions from customers.
    • \n
    • Assesses priorities based on time sensitivity as per the order tracker and available resources to assign duties to delegate work and responsibility to the Picking staff.
    • \n
    • Conducts staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement.
    • \n
    • Trains new staff in assigned duties, or delegates training responsibility to experienced team member. Assesses progress of trainees and adds additional duties as appropriate.
    • \n
    • Keeps informed of quantity and quality of jobs being performed throughout the day, providing guidance and advice as necessary while keeping abreast of issues.
    • \n
    • Delivers results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time
    • \n
    • Maintains high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest levels of customer satisfaction
    • \n
    • Provides ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members
    • \n
    • Provides input and conduct annual performance reviews for team members
    • \n
    • Supports adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • \n
    • Supports and trains team members with adherence to SOPs (corporate and client)

    • Transmits e-mails to DSV representatives and clients (when required), works with management to write corrective/preventive actions, complete reports for operations manager, follow-up with attendance reports, write counseling memos and write/perform evaluations.

    • Communicates accurately and professionally with both internal and external parties
    • \n
    • Conduct daily startup meetings, encouraging associates to provide feedback and work as a team and help with their development (training), coordinate operations with manager to ensure completion of daily objectives, report and discuss any internal or external issues that involve the operation.   
    • \n
    • Provide good communication and motivational techniques and ensure all company rules are followed.  Provide management with information regarding labor/equipment needs to meet customer demands.
    • \n
    • Audit the daily error report and make corrections as necessary.
    • \n
    • Meets all client specified KPI’s and complies with Quality system requirements.
    • \n
    • Prepares and reviews daily, weekly and monthly metrics with the team and senior management and makes the necessary improvements.
    • \n
    \n\n
      \n
    • Effectively keeps senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect the operations.
    • \n
    • Perform other duties as assigned (In transit report,  adjustments, etc.)
    • \n
    • Audit warehouse daily for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules.  Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.  Promote safety among work crew.
    • \n
    • Ensures the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.  Manages operations to meet prescribes productivity and service goals.  Complies with terms outlined in sites operating agreement with the client.
    • \n
    • Implements and reports on-going cost savings measures. Provides ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations.
    • \n
    • Keeps Manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention daily.
    • \n
    • Holds regular meetings with the team members to assess group’s overall status, discusses ideas for improvement and keeps staff informed of new developments.
    • \n
    • Assists in the physical operations as needed.
    • \n

    • Plans the daily work schedule by reviewing existing Sales orders and instructions from customers.
    • Assesses priorities based on time sensitivity as per the order tracker and available resources to assign duties to delegate work and responsibility to the Picking staff.
    • Conducts staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement.
    • Trains new staff in assigned duties, or delegates training responsibility to experienced team member. Assesses progress of trainees and adds additional duties as appropriate.
    • Keeps informed of quantity and quality of jobs being performed throughout the day, providing guidance and advice as necessary while keeping abreast of issues.
    • Delivers results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time
    • Maintains high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest levels of customer satisfaction
    • Provides ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members
    • Provides input and conduct annual performance reviews for team members
    • Supports adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Supports and trains team members with adherence to SOPs (corporate and client)
    • Transmits e-mails to DSV representatives and clients (when required), works with management to write corrective/preventive actions, complete reports for operations manager, follow-up with attendance reports, write counseling memos and write/perform evaluations.
    • Communicates accurately and professionally with both internal and external parties
    • Conduct daily startup meetings, encouraging associates to provide feedback and work as a team and help with their development (training), coordinate operations with manager to ensure completion of daily objectives, report and discuss any internal or external issues that involve the operation.   
    • Provide good communication and motivational techniques and ensure all company rules are followed.  Provide management with information regarding labor/equipment needs to meet customer demands.
    • Audit the daily error report and make corrections as necessary.
    • Meets all client specified KPI’s and complies with Quality system requirements.
    • Prepares and reviews daily, weekly and monthly metrics with the team and senior management and makes the necessary improvements.
    • Effectively keeps senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect the operations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned (In transit report,  adjustments, etc.)
    • Audit warehouse daily for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules.  Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.  Promote safety among work crew.
    • Ensures the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.  Manages operations to meet prescribes productivity and service goals.  Complies with terms outlined in sites operating agreement with the client.
    • Implements and reports on-going cost savings measures. Provides ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations.
    • Keeps Manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention daily.
    • Holds regular meetings with the team members to assess group’s overall status, discusses ideas for improvement and keeps staff informed of new developments.
    • Assists in the physical operations as needed.

     

     OTHER DUTIES

    • Willing to work long hours (6AM – 6PM) M-F and weekends as needed.
    • Performs other duties as required
    • Assist management as needed
    • Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation.
    • Participate in established cross training matrix activities with the opportunity to improve their knowledge in multiple areas / departments and be able to assist as a backup associate when the need may rise. 

     

     MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

     Education and/or Experience

      • Must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
      • 3 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
      • 1 year experience in a Team Leadership role
      • Able to operate MHE

     Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

    • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Some college
    • 2-4 years’ experience in a supervisory role
    • 2-4 years forklift experience.
    • Current or prior MHE certification
