About the Role:
The aim of the role is to lead the planning and delivery of a market winning plan, achieving the budget volumes whilst maximising forecast accuracy and balancing demand against available supply. As the Commercial Planning Manager, you will own the planning and sell in performance of a defined brands and categories. This role has joint ownership of the Weekly Area volume call, leading the weekly review process and aligning with senior stakeholders, before communicating a full weekly update by brand to the Region Manager UK&I.
This role provides great visibility throughout the business due to closely working with other departments such as Marketing, Supply Chain, sales, Trade and Finance.
Main Responsibilities:
As the Commercial Planning Manager your responsibilities will include:
PS Planning: Leading the PS process across Trade Marketing, working cross functionally with Strategy & Planning, reviewing, and developing the departmental role in the wider business process and building the timetables to ensure key milestones are met.
Sales Planning: Owning the PS1 Sales planning process by building and implementing the planning timetable and ensuring that all deadlines are met, and budget volumes are exceeded. Whilst also, bringing together insights from Category Development, Customer Category & CSU to interrogate and challenge the sales bottom-up plan.
Budgets: Collaborate cross functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales in creating the budget, SAF and S&Op plans for the financial year, providing insights on the shape of the plan and the ambition, challenging both the proposed Finance/Supply Chain plan
Forecasting: Own the 0-18 month rolling forecast, with specific responsibility for agreed brands and categories. Ensuring a clear understanding of the drivers and drainers of the plan and share those insights with senior stakeholders.
You will lead monthly brand review meetings with marketing directors and their teams so will need to understand the forecast, current performance, risks, and opportunities.
This role will also give you ownership of seasonal SKU management, ensuring that demand is correctly planned and monitored – you will communicate the risks and lead cross functional decision making.
You will also have accountability of leading the planning of NPD and pack changes, providing guidance to the sales team, and ensuring that commercial plan reflects both the category ambition and the supply timings.
As the Commercial Planning Manager, you will need to have a continuous improvement mindset, excellent communication with the ability to speak and present confidently to senior stakeholders.
This role will give you the opportunity to work very closely with other functions in the business, giving you exposure to different stakeholders and is a role with varied responsibility.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone that has experience in forecasting and operational planning. You will have strong business acumen and understanding in FMCG and have excellent knowledge of Excel; Power BI would be a plus! You must be articulate and have the ability to communicate confidently and have a continuous improvement mindset.
