Job Summary
The Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting and managing aspects of the financial activities of Hapana, including analysing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves analysing financial data, performing reconciliations, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes. The Financial Accountant will collaborate with various departments to support financial decision-making and provide insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual financial processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Following up on failed payments from our customers and troubleshooting
- Coordinate and manage the global payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries, leave, bonuses, and other compensation.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support strategic decision-making by the executive team.
- Responding to any customer queries and assisting in loading customers into the billing platform
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably in a corporate or SaaS environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments.
