Job Overview:

LPL Financial is seeking a strong candidate to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. Under the guidance of the VP of Corporate FP&A and the head of FP&A, the team provides critical analytical support to executive leaders through financial analysis and visually compelling financial reporting.

The FP&A group plays an instrumental role in the analysis and reporting of LPL’s financial information. This team is tasked with the reporting of financial information in various forms including but not limited to the company’s quarterly earnings release, executive packages, Board of Director presentations, and monthly financial results with variance commentary.

Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate FP&A, the AVP role will be responsible for leading the process of preparing Board of Director presentations throughout the year and will have direct interaction with the C-suite executive leadership team.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and own the overall process for preparing Board of Director presentations which includes transparent reporting of results, forecasts, and budget updates, highlighting significant assumptions as well as risks and opportunities

  • As project manager for FP&A team, this role will develop and communicate detailed timeline of deliverables to ensure important deadlines are met, coordinate with FP&A team members as well as cross-functionally to understand and provide insights to financial performance and forecasts, ensure accuracy of information, incorporate C-suite feedback, and provide clear communication to senior management through status updates

  • Prepare and deliver compelling, accurate, and visually effective financial presentations to executive management

  • Analyze data from various sources to compile comprehensive pictures of the overall business

  • Distill conclusions from financial analysis and results into succinct reporting with visuals and commentary appropriate for executive management

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, leveraging technology and staffing resources

  • Ad hoc analysis and additional responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CFA a plus

  • 5 years of relevant experience

Core Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Project management and organizational skills as well as demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize across multiple projects and adapt in real-time

  • Detail-oriented with insight to determine applicability of big picture analysis and strategic thinking is critical

  • Strong work ethic with commitment to excellence and integrity

  • Strong quantitative skills along with the ability to take complex financial results and create concise financial reporting within PowerPoint presentations

  • Effective communication, presentation, and writing skills and the ability to interact with various levels of management, including C-suite team

  • Self-motivated and a solid team player ability to work effectively with other parts of Finance and develop a strong consultative relationship throughout the department

Preferences:

  • Experience in FP&A, Investor Relations or financial services firm


Pay Range:

$93,920-$140,880/year


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
