AWS Lambda API developer role focused on Python, SQL, Postgres, and core AWS services. Develops APIs by writing code based upon design specifications and business requirements under the direction of the Development Lead and Project Manager. Takes an active role in the development group by sharing knowledge and mentoring others. This candidate is a member of a team, must adhere to secure development process and configuration management process and must be able to work cooperatively and autonomously.
Design, develop, and deploy APIs using AWS Lambda, ensuring efficient and scalable execution of functions in response to HTTP requests or events.
Implement serverless architecture best practices, optimizing resource utilization, and minimizing latency to create highly responsive APIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design API solutions that align with organizational goals.
Integration and Event Driven Architecture
Integrate AWS Lambda functions with other AWS services, such as API Gateway, S3, PostgreSQL, and more, to create end-to-end serverless solutions.
Implement event-driven architecture, utilizing AWS Lambda to respond to and process events generated by various sources, ensuring seamless communication between services.
Develop error handling mechanisms and implement logging and monitoring solutions to maintain the reliability and resilience of serverless APIs.
Security and Access Controls
Implement security best practices in API development, including encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with security standards.
Stay informed about AWS security updates and proactively address vulnerabilities, ensuring the ongoing integrity and confidentiality of serverless API systems.
What are we looking for?

5+ years experience developing, testing, and deploying Lambda functions
3+ Expert fluency writing Python for serverless applications and AWS Lambda
3+ Advanced SQL skills - complex queries, functions, query optimization
Knowledge of REST API design patterns and developing on AWS API Gateway
Experience monitoring, logging and tracing Lambda API applications
2+ Strong experience working with PostgreSQL
Experience with search engines like Solr or Elasticsearch for text search
Proficiency with infrastructure as code using Terraform to provision AWS resources
