Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Unix Engineer to join our dynamic IT team at an enterprise level. As a Unix Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Unix Server infrastructure to support the organization's operations and ensure maximum system availability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Manage and administer Unix based systems, with a strong emphasis on Red Hat technologies.

  • Infrastructure Optimization: Continuously optimize system performance, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability in a financial environment.

  • Security Implementation: Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard financial data and systems.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve system issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless operations.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and security experts, to ensure the integration of systems aligns with financial industry standards.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices.

  • Automation: Implement automation solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance system efficiency.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Unix and Red Hat Engineer in a financial or similarly regulated industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Unix operating systems.

  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation.

  • Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning tools.

Pay Range:

$93,200-$139,800/year


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
