GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sr. EHS Manager for chemical & product compliance is responsible for developing/implementing programs and processes to manage chemical and product hazard information in compliance with local, state/provincial, and National laws across EssilorLuxottica’s lines of business in North America (NA). Minimize hazard-related risks to acceptable levels, as well as prevention of future chemical & product hazard-related liabilities. This includes management / support of an end-to-end process, inclusive of chemical / product initialization, study management, classification, labelling, safety data sheet (SDS) compliance and transport classification.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement and manage an efficient and effective end-to-end EHS chemical and product compliance process.
- Collaborate with Global EHS Center of Excellence team, Legal, relevant business units, and other functions to support the identification, impact and risk assessment, action planning and communication with regards to current and emerging laws and regulations related to chemical use, new products, chemical/product imports & exports, manufacturing, transport and related activities.
- Analyze new laws in North America impacting chemical & product EHS issues as they are enacted and evaluate the impact to the business. Lead both internal and external stakeholders to devise (and update) a timely and accurate response on behalf of the company.
- Comprehensive knowledge of chemical & product EHS regulations in Canada, U.S. & Mexico. Including but not limited to EPA TSCA, Canadian DSL, non-DSL, California CARB & Proposition 65, SDS development & management, DOT, TDG, and other related regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate, support and provide process / technical expertise to relevant business units, supporting functions and sites with respect to chemical and product compliance, facilitating business continuity and protecting the reputation of EssilorLuxottica across the value chain.
- Provide information and participate in management system activities such as annual planning, compliance reviews and audits, management review, etc., as appropriate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, toxicology, chemical engineering, or related field
- 8+ years’ experience in chemical & product EHS management such as EPA/TSCA, DSL, GHS classification, chemical labeling, SDS management, lithium battery management, hazmat transportation, etc.
- Experience in EHS data management including enterprise approaches to product initialization, SDS management and related; EHS hazard identification, risk assessment and control; Product registration and product regulatory classifications, Supply Chain management
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and operate in a highly matrixed environment.
- Excellent organization, communication, and team skills
- Ability to analyze information, solve problems, prioritize tasks, and manage time and regulatory deadlines effectively
- Ability to travel as needed (estimated 25% or less)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Degree in chemistry, toxicology, chemical engineering, or related field
- DOT, IATA, IMDG, or other EHS certifications
- Knowledge of International chemical/product EHS regulations (e.g., REACH, Conflict Minerals, etc.)
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
