GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Manager – Business Analytics (Analytics, Insights and Reporting) is responsible for leading the overall performance and lifecycle management of the central reporting and analytics function. The Senior Manager will provide oversight of highly specialized and complex analytics, data engineering and data science activities, and will collaborate cross-functionally on strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defines and leads implementation and management of standards, processes, tools, data architecture and frameworks that enable governance of the function and its output in accordance with software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices
  • Defines and leads implementation and administration of knowledge management, including the collection, organization and maintenance of documentation on project requirements, data dictionaries, process flows and performance standards
  • Defines and leads implementation and administration of performance monitoring, including establishment, reporting and analysis of key performance indicators, and development of mitigation strategies for KPI’s at risk
  • Leads strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects that improve and expand the function’s capabilities and ensure alignment with industry trends and best practices
  • Serves as a cross-functional subject matter representative for reporting and analytics, cultivating creative and innovative analytical solutions to business needs, performing root cause analysis, making recommendations, assessing tradeoffs, fostering collaboration, and ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives and priorities
  • Serves as a mentor for team members, providing guidance and training on analytical techniques and best practices, and selection and use of data sources, platforms and tools
  • Performs specialized and complex analytics and data science tasks when expert knowledge, advanced skillset and extensive experience are required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical/technical field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience with data analytics, reporting and visualization
  • Team management and development/mentorship experience
  • Expertise in cleansing, integrating and analyzing large and complex data sets
  • Expertise in business or health informatics, data architecture and pipeline/ETL
  • High proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel
  • Programming experience in R or Python
  • Expertise in process re-engineering and automation
  • Strong balance of business, analytics and technology acumen
  • Superior communication, critical thinking, problem solving and project management skills
  • High accountability, learning agility and attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master’s Degree in an analytical/technical field
    • Experience with Business Objects development/design
    • Experience with Qlik development/design
    • Expertise in R, RStudio and common packages
    • Working knowledge of statistics, machine learning and data science techniques
    • Working knowledge of continuous improvement concepts (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma)
    • Experience with Facets in a managed care setting
    • Experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid programs and reporting
    • Experience with health provider and network data elements
    • Experience with payment integrity data mining and fraud analytics

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
