Job Title:  Corporate Vice President

Location: New York, NY

Offered Wage: $174,762.00/year

 

Duties: Supports the company's ability to bring new products to market by implementing new products and reserving requirements into the valuation system. Develops valuation specifications and reviews the implementation in the valuation system. Creates independent Excel tools to validate reserves calculated in the valuation system. Maintains thorough documentation on the implementation and testing process. Enhances and streamlines the product implementation process. Implements enhancements to principle-based reserve (PBR) model and analyses. Performs periodic reviews and updates of valuation assumptions such as x-factors, PBR margins, incurred but not reported (IBNR), and term conversion reserve assumptions.

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience providing actuarial services for life insurance or annuity products.

Or, alternatively:

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience providing actuarial services for life insurance or annuity products.

 

Required Skills & Certifications:

  • Must possess Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.

 

Experience must include 1 year in each of the following skills:

  1. Providing technical support for actuarial model system migration, including architectural design, programming, data investigation, and testing;

 

  1. Performing inforce model testing or implementation using actuarial software, such as Prophet, MG-ALFA, and GGY-AXIS;

 

  1. Performing valuation reviews and testing following GAAP, STAT, PBR and LDTI Actuarial Valuation Guidelines;

 

  1. Proposing and implementing process maintenance and improvements leveraging SQL, R, C, C++, and Python programming languages; and,

 

  1. Performing actuarial assumption reviews and development, presenting to senior leadership, and collaborating with other actuarial teams to ensure consistency in assumptions across actuarial functions.
