Summary:

The Purchase Experience value stream has embarked on an exciting journey to create an industry-leading purchase experience that powers agent productivity and drive new business growth. One of our flagship initiatives is the development of an integrated, seamless, and guided digital-application experience, known as Universal Application.

The Universal Application Product Owner will be responsible for working closely with a program team to design, develop and deploy a minimum viable product in 2024 and support the scaling of the solution in 2025 and beyond.

The Product Owner will also be responsible for ensuring user stories are well defined and understood; that acceptance criteria is thought-out and represents the scope of the story and provides incremental value for our agents and customers.

This role will require working closely with peers within the Purchase Experience value stream, as well as key stakeholders from FIeld Operations, Product Solutions, Service Experience, Compliance, OGC and Technology. Collaboration with these various teams is crucial to ensure the digital capabilities meet and exceed all regulatory and compliance standards, while also improving the platform's overall efficiency and offering a best-in-class agent and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, consolidates, and prioritizes business requirements.

  • Centralizes voice of the key stakeholders (including clients, Agents, and employees) to inform design and prioritization of requirements and ultimately improvement efforts.

  • Drives a “digital first” approach and mindset to creating experiences for clients, Agents, and employees during the foundational build of the Universal Application experience.

  • Ability to translate business/technical requirements for multiple internal and external stakeholders with clarity and ease to promote alignment, understanding and delivery of business objectives.

  • Looks externally at competitors and outside industry for inspiration on what “better” experience (e.g., channels, offerings, personalization) can look like at NYL for agents, clients, and employees.

  • Partners with departmental communications teams and initiative leads to refine on-going communication plans and execute tactical plans. Ability to communicate and distill complex technical information into updates easily understood by the broader business and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.

  • Experience with business process modeling and data modeling.

  • Proven experience as Product Owner in Agile projects. Experience working in a scaled agile delivery framework (SAFe) using agile software (Jira) or the equivalent is desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry, specifically with the new business intake process across life insurance, Long Term Care insurance, Disability insurance, Annuities and Wealth products.

Salary range: $82,500-$135,500

Overtime eligible: Exempt
