Role Overview:
This role will provide strategic group life, disability, absence management and voluntary benefits sales for large and/or complex National Accounts (5,000+ employees) within the Central region. Responsibilities include leading sales strategies, managing and developing consulting relationships, and organizing and leveraging the National Accounts existing business sales force.
What You’ll Do:
This role will be a vital component to NY Life Group Benefit Solutions maintaining a strong National Account presence in the respective market with consultants, prospects and clients.
Responsibilities to include:
a.) New Sales: Lead National Accounts strategy and responses for new business opportunities
b.) Prospect Development: Execute National Accounts prospect development plan for the respective market for new clients and cross-sell opportunities.
c.) Consulting Partner Development: Lead execution of consultant development strategy in the respective market for National Accounts impacting new and existing business opportunities.
What You’ll Bring:
- Travel Required
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Proficient knowledge (10+ years) in life, disability, absence management and voluntary benefits business; to include many or all of the following: product knowledge, underwriting, risk and financial analysis skills, marketing processes, sales practices, account management and knowledge of administrative operations
- Successful track record and/or possesses clear aptitude as a leader, administrator, negotiator, and salesperson
- Experience in selling to large and complex National Account clients
- Proven ability to develop strong customer/producer relationships. Experience and depth of understanding in each of the core dependent areas including Underwriting, Pricing, Risk Management and Operations such that one can leverage support needed to deliver the right client professional solution
- Strong persuasion skills and effective communicator; possesses excellent relationship-building skills
- Customer focus - ability to meet customer expectations and act with a strong focus on how to deliver a positive customer experience
- Demonstrates planning/organizational skills; ability to plan for both the long and short term; ability to work on many issues at once and to prioritize work
- Demonstrates ability to develop strong working relationships with matrix partners in the organization
- Effective speaking and communication skills; demonstrated presentation skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses

Pay Transparency
Salary range: $300,000+ ( base salary plus sales incentives)
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: No
Sales bonus eligible: Yes
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
