About the Opportunity

This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.


The Gift and Data Processor reports to the Assistant Director, Gift Services and Systems and will process gifts received from individual donors, corporations, and third-party vendors, as well as Development Officers, The Northeastern Annual Fund, Corporations and Foundations, Athletics, the Library, and other areas of the university that raise funds.


Strong computer skills with knowledge of data entry techniques. Understanding of computer databases and data interactions with previous data entry experience and data input skills. Ability to interpret information from a variety of sources and to enter it consistently into the database according to established standards. Ability to locate information from a variety of sources, including online directories, electronic media, and published reference sources. Detail oriented and concerned with quality and accuracy. Strong communication skills with ability to communicate well in both written and verbal format. Strong organization and information management skills. Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through the completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of office experience preferred; Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) desired.


1) Create records and update biographical information on alumni, students, parents, friends, faculty, staff, corporations, and charitable foundations.

2) Enter pledges and gifts into the Advancement database.

3) Research biographical information.

4) Assist with general office duties.
