The Senior Data Analyst at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will employ full-stack data analytics capabilities to design, develop, implement, maintain, and support robust and secure data and systems. Harness power of data analytics tools, including those in the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack and Power Platform, to develop extensible, enterprise-grade data solutions for cyber risk management. Wrangle, cleanse, extract, transform, load, integrate, and model data from diverse sources. Utilize development, analytical, and presentation tools, including Git, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, PowerShell, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, AWS, and Databricks. Build innovative visualizations, reports, dashboards, forecasts, and presentations to tell data stories around cyber risk and to improve risk-based business decisions. Drive risk-based business outcomes and uncover insights for decision-makers by analyzing cyber risk data for patterns and trends. Develop, monitor, and report on cyber risk metrics, including key performance indicators, key control indicators, and key risk indicators, to identify areas for operational improvement, facilitate root cause analysis, and offer proactive warnings for changes in cyber risk. Utilize statistical programming languages, including R, Python, and Julia. Promote leading practices around core data analytics methodologies, standards, tools, and related concepts through coaching, mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and other means. Telecommuting permitted. Salary $112,195- $200,200 per year.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Computer Science, or related field, plus 2 years (or a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 progressive years) of data analytics and data engineering experience. Experience must include 2 years in each of the following: (1) data analytics tools in the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack and Power Platform, including Microsoft SQL Server Database Services, SSIS, SSAS, Power Query, Power BI, DAX, Power Apps, and Power Automate; (2) full data analytics stack, including data engineering, analytics engineering, and data analysis; (3) development of enterprise-grade data solutions and application of data analytics techniques; (4) design, development, and evaluation of metrics systems (KPIs, KCIs, KRIs); (5) statistical programming languages, including R, Python, and Julia; (6) development, analytical, and presentation tools, including Git, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, PowerShell, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, AWS, and Databricks; and (7) data integration, data modeling, data flow analysis, relational and entity-relationship data modeling, Kimball methodology, regression analysis, factor analysis, time series analysis, root cause analysis, descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics.
