Your Role: As the Growth & Development Director you are responsible for building a productive team and for attracting, developing and retaining successful Financial Advisors.

Purpose: To serve as a leader in the firm to grow others. The Growth and Development Director is the ultimate player/coach role where you must lead by example AND show others the way.

Responsibilities

· Be a Talent Scout. Develop sourcing strategies to drive necessary recruiting activity and results. Communicate the potential you see in others to build a diverse pipeline of high potential people.

· Develop others. Coach your team of advisors to achieve all new client and production milestones. Develop the talent of others to achieve their vision. Maintain quarterly standards tied to their vision. Update One Note with relevant coaching information and inspection points.

· Be a brand ambassador. Represent Northwestern Mutual in our community and at company events, uphold our reputation, teach ethical guidelines, drive inclusion. Always conduct yourself professionally and with the highest degree of integrity and character.

· Grow next-gen leaders within your team enabling you to create the internal span of control needed to grow on a year over year basis. Identify and communicate the potential of others across a diverse group of future leaders.

· Be a culture keeper. Define the culture you want to build and uphold those principals. Inspire a culture that drives inclusion, productivity, and retention. Demonstrate self-awareness and personal growth. Develop strong DEI competency.

· Drive change. Set a vision to drive positive impact in the firm and community. Communicate priorities to drive the vision and test strategies to achieve it. Live in the ‘grey’ until you can clearly outline the path for others to follow. Invest in your education to stay sharp.

· Lead by example. Build a clientele and onboard new clients to your business. Impact the lives of clients through comprehensive financial planning. Post and plan your personal practice results to lead by example. Complete all CE and compliance requirements early.

· Keep a business owner mindset. Operate the business with sound strategic thinking, strong financial acumen, and consistent practice management processes. Invest in your business’ growth by financially participating in growth priorities.

Qualifications

  • Must be investment and insurance licensed
  • At least 2 years of financial services advisory experience
  • A history of success and leadership by example in your personal practice
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing and retaining talent
