To strengthen our Intelligent Industry team, we are looking for an Intern in Data Science / Management Consulting (m/f/d) for a period of 6+ months

Bring to life what's next

  • Assist with the development and implementation of data management and governance frameworks
  • Develop storylines that effectively communicate complex data analysis to a non-technical audience
  • Collaborate with the team to develop compelling data visualizations and create effective and engaging presentations for clients
  • Work closely with data scientists and data analysts to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and quality. Assist with data analysis, processing, and cleaning tasks as required
  • Continuously evaluate and improve presentation and storyline effectiveness based on client feedback
  • Assist with facilitating workshops and leading discussions with stakeholders
  • Participate actively in team meetings and collaborate with team members to ensure timely and effective project delivery
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate data processing tasks, leveraging your coding experience (e.g., SQL, Python) to enhance efficiency.

Your qualifications

  • Communication and presentation skills: You are an excellent communicator with outstanding presentation and moderation skills. You effectively convey complex problems and solutions to a diverse audience in a clear and engaging manner. You have excellent command of written and spoken English. C1 level proficiency in German or French is a strong advantage
  • Conceptual talent: You are scientifically rigorous in your thinking and precise in your language, yet you thrive in environments that can be ambiguous where key information may not be available. You are comfortable with rapid changes in the work environment and can adapt your strategies and approaches to meet evolving project needs and challenges. Your time management skills are well developed. You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to address complex challenges
  • Academic excellence: You are currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in a life science field, ideally in a quantitative/computational subfield
  • Industry knowledge: You have a good understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms, as well as systems architecture and data flows. You have demonstrated interest in the Life Sciences industry and its applications.
  • Consulting experience: Previous experience in consulting or in any life science industry is beneficial, providing you with a foundational understanding of client-facing roles
  • Digital affinity: You have strong digital literacy, an eye for detail and very good MS Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel. Programming skills in Python and/or R and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI are beneficial
  • Cultural fit: You have high reliability, team spirit and personal fit for a leading global management consulting firm (international orientation & openness to travel, integrity). Your strong interpersonal skills, enable you to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds. You are willing and able to go the extra mile when required
  • Duration of employment: Minimum 6 months
  • Earliest starting date: February 2025
