YOUR ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Storage Administrator to manage, monitor, and maintain our organization's storage systems. The Storage Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of our enterprise storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and backup systems, and will play a key role in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and data protection.

YOUR TASKS

  • Manage, configure, and maintain enterprise storage systems, including SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and DAS (Direct Attached Storage) solutions.
  • Monitor storage performance and capacity, addressing bottlenecks, and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Implement and maintain data backup and recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Perform storage provisioning, including volume creation, LUN masking, zoning, and file system management.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of storage systems, implementing encryption, access controls, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support storage requirements for databases, virtualization, and other applications.
  • Develop and maintain storage documentation, including system configurations, processes, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage issues, working closely with vendors and internal teams.
  • Participate in capacity planning and forecasting to ensure adequate storage resources are available for current and future needs.
  • Implement and manage replication technologies to support disaster recovery and high availability.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging storage technologies and best practices.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise storage administration.
  • Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, DAS, and cloud-based storage solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with storage management platforms (e.g., NetApp, EMC, HPE 3PAR, Dell Compellent, Pure Storage).
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas).
  • Knowledge of RAID levels, LUN provisioning, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and storage protocols.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and their integration with storage systems.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools and techniques to track performance and usage metrics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform root cause analysis for storage issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with cloud storage services (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage).
  • Experience with data protection and disaster recovery technologies, such as replication and snapshots.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation of storage tasks.
  • Certification in storage technologies (e.g., NetApp Certified Data Administrator, EMC Storage Specialist) is a plus.
