DHL Express currently has an opening for anIndustrial Engineer in Erlanger, Kentucky at the DHL CVG Global Hub.This position helps plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations. The role also establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. The Industrial Engineer may contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts.

· Key Responsibilities:

· Forecasts volume, facility, vehicle, staffing and/or material handling equipment needs to improve cost, utilization, service, and efficiencies.

· Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Will contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts as required.

· Works closely with the Operations team and Zero-Defect teams to ensure the operations are driving quality through efficiency while adhering to compliance standards.

· Develops and monitors long-range research and development plans based on corporate strategic objectives.

· Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow by analyzing operational costs, process flow charts, and operational schedules.

· Recommends methods for maximizing the utilization of facilities and personnel by restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment in adherence with governmental, health, safety, and other regulations.

· Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors; recommends changes. Coordinates routing system changes with airline, hub and ground network to optimize service cost.

· May monitor and evaluate departmental reporting systems.

· Monitor and evaluate progress in managing service and cost.

· Assume project management responsibilities as necessary.

Operates with a degree of latitude. May develop solutions to non-routine issues, without appreciable guidance from others.

Impact:

May direct major projects or programs with significant business impact within department, area, and business unit. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve objectives would result in significant program delays and sizeable expenditure of resources to rectify.

Knowledge:

Possesses extensive knowledge in specialty area. Routinely called upon to apply comprehensive knowledge of existing and emerging technologies, practices, and processes. Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, technical) doing individual contributor work. Provides input in development of operating plans/budgets.

Problem Complexity:

Performs leading-edge professional level work. Requires creative and innovative thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-department problems.

Skills & Qualifications:

· BS/BA in any engineering discipline and 3-5 years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in field of expertise or MS/MA and generally at least 2-3 years of experience in related field.(Industrial Engineering preferred)

· Expert level Excel and MS SQL knowledge is required.

· Experience with Power BI is desirable.

· Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and implementing projects.

· Mastery of existing and emerging technologies, processes, and practices.

· Ability to interface and drive results with management at all levels.

· Ability to work different shifts including third shift.
