Job Description

The Senior Director, Engagement is responsible for designing and implementing an effective communications and engagement plan that supports all aspects of internal and executive communications for DHL Supply Chain North America. The person will work in close collaboration with senior leadership in Marketing, HR, Operations, and other relevant business functions to drive integrated, coordinated and effective communications throughout the North American region. The Senior Director will lead a team responsible for the development of messages, tools, platforms and processes that lead to improved performance and the achievement of divisional goals.The role also includes developing guidelines and policies to ensure efficient, accurate and compliant processes in employee communications, employer branding and change management-related activities.

Responsibilities

-Support the VP of Marketing & Engagement with CEO communications.

-Support communications rollout of division’s global 5-year strategy

-Participate as active member of Human Resources Leadership Team and Steer Cos for DEIB and ESG

-Lead issues management resolution on internally focused or HR/labor related issues including crisis communications, customer issues and labor issues Lead operational communications strategy and execution.

-Serve as the editor and process gatekeeper for any internal communications that announce key leadership changes across the Region.

-Support internal events including town halls and annual operations and sales conferences.

  • Continuously improve means by which regionally driven messages are shared via digital channels and print across the organization.
  • Lead selection and on-going management of any vendors affecting regional internal communications and work with Marketing to leverage vendor spend where feasible.

-Partner with global and regional communications teams (divisional and corporate) to support global projects and initiatives

Required Education and Experience

-Bachelors degree, required. Master Degree, preferred.

-10+ years of Corporate Internal Communications experience with a strong preference for an emphasis on content development aimed at a heavily populated hourly work environment, required

-Proven experience in corporate/internal communications, required

-Advanced writing and content development skills, required

-Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders, required

-Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering impactful marketing initiatives, required

-Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, required

-Exceptional project management skills, including budgeting, timeline management, and vendor negotiation, required

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, required

-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously, required
