The role of the Quality Manager is to undertake the following overall responsibilities:

  • Ensure that processes needed for the Quality,H&S, Enviromental Management System is established, implemented and maintained
  • Report to top management on the performance of the QHSE and any need for improvement.
  • Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Liaise with the external assessment body on all matters related to the external accreditation process.
  • Manage QHSE team and provide training and development of staff.

Job Requirements

  • Ensure that a document control procedure is adopted to approve, review and update all changes to critical documents within the scope of the QHSE
  • Ensure that records are established and maintained to provide evidence that the QHSE is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposition of such records.
  • Ensure that the performance of the QHSE is reviewed at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. This review means assessing opportunities for improvement and need for changes to the QHSE.
  • Ensure that Quality / Health & Safety / Enviromental Objectives are set by top management for measuring the performance of the QHSMS and that these are regularly reviewed.
  • Ensure that all new staff is inducted into the requirements of the QHSE related to their own roles and responsibilities. Provide update training as necessary.
  • Ensure that all suppliers used by the organization are selected, evaluated and re-evaluated and that records of this assessment are maintained.
  • Ensure that top management undertakes periodic but regular assessment of customer satisfaction and those consequent improvements are identified and implemented.
  • Ensure that an internal audit program is adopted to verify that the QMS conforms to planned arrangements, QHSE arrangements and is effectively implemented and maintained. Ensure that appropriate action is taken when this is not the case.
  • Analyze data on the effectiveness of the QHSE and evaluate where continual improvements of the QHSE can be made. This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement and from other relevant sources.
  • Co-ordinate continual improvements of the QHSE, ensuring that evidence of corrective and preventive actions taken are recorded and reviewed.
  • Ensure that systems and equipment are validated (if applicable) and change control processes maintained
  • Lead key regulatory, customer and 3rd party audits.
  • Recruit and develop high performing and diverse team. Create an environment for continued learning and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Logisitcs, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 5 years experience in Qualtiy Management, freight forwarding operations
  • 3-5 years experience conducting audits and implementing corrective actions
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO45000, ISO14001, GDP
  • Six Sigma Black Belt a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Project Management Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Organizational skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control)
  • Network and relationship building and high level of influencing people skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills

For this position, the expected base pay is: $115,000 - $172,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
