SUMMARY
As a DOT Safety Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Safety Manager in all aspects of Department of Transportation (DOT) safety and compliance within our organization. You will work closely with various departments and team members to ensure that our operations adhere to DOT and company regulations, maintain safety standards, and minimize risks associated with transportation and logistics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer and route incoming safety department phone calls.
  • Open and distribute all incoming safety department mail, FedEx and UPS.
  • File Safety and Licensing paperwork in online filing system
  • Prepare permit books and accident kits as tractors are added to the fleet
  • Distribute supplies to contractors
  • Update and advise contractors of expiring credentials
  • Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES)

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in Transportation or Office Administration preferred

Computer Skills

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, and verbal).

Mathematical Skills

  • Proficient mathematical skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Attention to detail for collating and transferring information from diverse formats and sources.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and able to perform with little supervision.
  • Exceptional organizational & prioritization skills.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Multi-task and meet deadlines with the ability to rapidly adapt to unexpected job demands/changes in assignments/working conditions

For this position, the expected base pay is: $19 - $25.50/ Hourly. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
