The primary function of the Warehouse Operator - specializes in handling airfreight / ocean freight and to ensure the smooth transition of warehouse related activities starting from inflow of products to the time product leaves the warehouse. Functions include receiving, labelling, and locating items on racks, picking, checking, packing, and shipping.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cross-checking the merchandise for any damages and signing shipments upon receipt
• Verifying merchandise details
• Maintaining an accurate and detailed record of the shipments received and shipped
• Coordinating the shipment status with distributors and vendors
• Checking and arranging for warehouse space
• Assisting with loading and unloading of goods
• Arranging for heavy machinery such as forklifts and hand carts for moving and stocking merchandise
• Categorizing merchandise in different boxes and containers
• Packing merchandise using appropriate labels and mentioning correct shipment details
• Processing and scheduling orders for delivery and pickup
• Conducting regular inventory checks
• Ensuring that the warehouse is always kept clean and safe
• Maintaining and updating inventory logs
• Coordinating day-to-day warehouse activities with the Warehouse Manager
• Adhere to all Standard operating Procedures and Polices set in place by the department and organization

Quality, Health & Safety:
• Supports organizational commitment to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 certification – Montreal location
• Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety, and environment and follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy.
• Staff are required to ensure that their day-to-day activities embrace sustainability, Health and safety therefore reducing the impact upon the environment, supporting the communities we work in and reducing incidents in the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• A minimum of 1 -2 year experience in a warehousing environment managing with a minimum of 1 year handling large or oversized cargo
• Minimum high school education required
• Dangerous Goods Certification, an asset
• Authorized Cargo Representative (ACR) designated status, an asset
• Forklift license required
