Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Private Events Coordinator will provide event operations and administrative support including event preparation, coordination, answering inquiries, closing bills and events orders. As well as execute and supervise private events and catering orders during the events for all Eataly Toronto locations including Yorkville, Sherway Gardens and Don Mills. Reports to the Private Sales and Events Manager.

  • Develops and maintains partnerships with the restaurant, retail and quick service departments.
  • Maintains industry knowledge including principles and practices within catering.
  • Maintains clear and open communication with the Events Manager about all events and orders.
  • Fosters positive communication between departments to coordinate event and guest needs.
  • Uses Tripleseat software to answer initial inquires, detail event orders, close bills, send invoices and thank you notes.
  • Collects information for and creates private event materials, including, but not limited to: tasting notes, recipes, menus, informational sheets, branded folders and maps.
  • Maintains daily tasks including but not limited to: cleaning event spaces, menu printing, welcoming guests to events, showing events spaces and assisting with service.
  • Uses Opentable to enter, edit, audit and manage all event and order information.
  • Assists with coordinating storewide events, promotions and partner events.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of food, beverage and service standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, operational environment
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in Italian food and wine

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability to work a flexible scheduling including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
  • Must have previous experience with Tripleseat and Opentable
