About the team:

The US consular group in EMEA/AsiaPac/LATAM supports US consular and substantive filings throughout the respective regions as stand-alone services or part of a larger immigration application process. The team’s approach is designed to maximise efficiencies, ensure ownership of work and to empower team members to design work practices to meet the expectations of their clients.

About the role:
In this role you will be working in a fast-paced environment, providing US legal advice in connection with US Consular Services in EMEA, specifically the Middle East/LATAM and or AsiaPac.

More specifically, you will provide legal advice to clients and US Fragomen offices in connection with US Consular Services (NIV and IV appointment preparation, troubleshooting, substantive filings like inadmissibility and E company registrations and US citizen services) throughout EMEA or AsiaPac or LATAM.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Communicate with client and colleagues on complex Consular case matters, including refusal risks, processing trends, and criminal matters.
  • Draft and file petition applications
  • Liaise with US Embassies and Consulates.
  • Manage allocated client accounts and their active and inactive matters.
  • Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.
  • Troubleshoot and establish case strategy.
  • Review of documents sent in by assignees and flag any issues to clients.
  • Review documents drafted by Paralegals to ensure legal compliance and quality standards are met.
  • Draft correspondence to a client on complex matters.
  • Contribute to the Firm’s overall initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally.
  • Displays professionalism, quality service and a “positive” attitude to internal members and departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, telephone and in person.

About you:

Successful applicants will need to be a Member of a US State Bar Association and have preferably 5 years + experience with US Business Immigration law and/or family-based immigration experience, preferably within Middle Eastern or Asia Pacific markets, additional experience in global immigration at advantage.
