KONI innovates, engineers and manufactures market leading performance and adjustable shock absorbers, providing customers with a comfortable, safe and sustainable driving experience in any vehicle, across any terrain.

KONI was founded in 1857 by A. de Koning in Oud-Beijerland, the Netherlands, initially making leather equipment for horses. The company name “KONI” was established in 1928, with KONI first making friction type shock absorbers in 1932. In 1945, KONI began development of the world’s first adjustable hydraulic telescopic type shock absorber for cars and trucks, a product style which remains synonymous with KONI.

Known for a proud and successful history in motor sports, KONI has and continues to work with leading teams across rally and racing, including winning Grand Prix World Championships, to solve suspension problems and develop new innovative technologies. KONI also has a long history of working with companies to develop Original Equipment (O.E.) applications which transform vehicle driving quality and experiences.

KONI has developed from a skilled small local company into a multi-national leading shock absorber specialist, well known across the world. Since 1972, KONI has been a part of ITT (ITT: NYSE), a global diversified industrial company. ITT is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered, customised solutions for the energy, transportation and industrial markets.

Our office for the DACH-region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) is in Limburg (near Koblenz), our headoffice is in Oud-Beijerland. For this region we are looking for a

Junior Sales Manager DACH - automotive after market.

Essential Responsibilities

The position

KONI is in the exciting process of executing a new global growth strategy in the Automotive After Market. The strategy is based on customer, product, and digital expansion. The strategy is built around the introduction of new product lines, new applications, and new technologies for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. This product offensive is supported by a new global Marketing Communications strategy. The Sales Manager DACH will play a key role in driving the company’s growth strategy within the DACH market. As the Sales Manager DACH, you have a unique opportunity to contribute to this important step in the KONI history. You will be working with national and international contacts, internal and external, to identify and manage new business opportunities. You will also be working to strengthen and grow existing business with the current KONI partners in the region. You listen and look for any opportunity where the KONI value proposition can be offered.

Position Requirements

Your profile

  • Two-five years of relevant experience, preference in the automotive after market industry in the region
  • You live in the East of the Netherlands close to the German border
  • Willing to travel to the headoffice in Oud-Beijerland, Rotterdam area, once a month and rest of the time working from home or on the road to customers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
  • Able to define and execute sales strategies based on identified market opportunities
  • Experience in building and maintaining a business network, with a long-term view
  • Key words that are attributable to you: genuine, professional, social, team player, ambitious, continuous improvement
  • Able to communicate at all business levels in German and English. Knowledge of Dutch language and culture is an advantage
  • Taking ownership of your business relations and making sure they experience premium products as well as premium support
  • Being available for events at the weekends
