JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The purpose of this position is to execute the Document Processing/Billing Operations activities in Air/Ocean freight for import & export traffics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • To process shipments with high accuracy by using proprietary forwarding applications, billing, ensuring operational excellence and high productivity in cooperation with the Customer Service staff.
  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers and/or to overseas business units
  • Retrieve rates from C1 and other systems needed to invoice
  • Job cost accurately all files
  • Send invoices + all backup documentation per customer requirements
  • Communicate with Customer Service group for any requirements and/or exceptions found in freight instructions/documents
  • Resolve any rate discrepancies by working with the business units to get updated rates into system
  • Support other billing departments as needed
  • Understand and utilize internal billing reporting systems to identify priority bill to shipments
  • Distribute documents and make copies in accordance with shipper's, JAS's and/or destination country requirements.
  • Get approval for all credit notes and/or invoice reversals before issuance
  • Ensure highest level of data quality by processing the shipment accurately.
  • Special Projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

  • Minimum fluent in spoken and written English, second language a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Student or Bachelor degree in Administration or Transport specialist.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of standard and accepted administrative and operations practices.
  • Years of experience 1 in the same position.

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
