In this position you will be responsible for reviewing and approving Flood and Non-Flood Insurance for Real Estate backed collateral. Daily management of insurance pipeline to ensure efficient processing, detailed review updates are entered into required system and timely approvals are provided to meet the needs of our clients. Collaboration with the Corporate Flood Program and the Flood and Insurance Center of Excellence will be critical to ensure we are meeting regulatory standards as well as adhering to bank policies and guidelines. Work is performed under limited supervision with full responsibility for managing multiple tasks within business service level agreements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert in regard to regulatory flood and Commercial Bank insurance guidelines, polices, and procedures.
  • Lead or participate in meetings with representatives from line of business, Corporate Flood Program, Central Insurance Team, Legal, and Compliance when flood insurance issues/questions arise.
  • Lead or participate in meetings with clients/insurance agents on insurance matters to ensure timely loan closing/funding.
  • Perform post close flood due diligence tasks to ensure life of loan compliance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act.
  • Assures overall compliance with all commercial real estate bank policies and regulations while maintaining a positive and productive partnership with the line of business and other internal partners.
  • Demonstrate creative problem solving and solid judgment/decision making

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong understanding of the Flood Disaster Protection Act.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic change environment with competing priorities.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a team environment under high pressure situations
  • Advanced analytical and time management skills.
  • Possess a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent and proactive written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to form positive partnerships with internal partners as well as Clients.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • BA/BS Degree
  • Experience in commercial in banking/lending
  • Property and casualty insurance experience including all-risk, builder’s risk, windstorm, seismic, terrorism, general and excess liability, workers compensation, employer’s liability, and auto coverage.
