As a Lead Technical Program Manager in Corporate Investment Bank in Payments Technology , you will drive the successful delivery of complex technology projects and programs that will help reaching business goals across the firm. Leveraging your deep knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential for developing innovative solutions, while simultaneously effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams. The Payments Engineering & Architecture function is a small central team that operates horizontally across the 5000+ technologists delivering business solutions in the Payments Technology organization. We have responsibility for setting standards, policies and driving the documentation and adoption of pragmatic architectural patterns as we establish consistency and optimized technical outcomes in support of our aggressive business goals. With the group of highly technical SMEs in E&A, we have a very strong matrix alignment across each of the domains throughout the Payments organization to inform and agree the output from E&A to ensure appropriateness and to facilitate localized help in driving adherence and identification of agreed exceptions.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of technology solutions
  • Document and collaborate with product owners, support specialists, trainers, and engineers to produce high-quality technical documentation for our products and services. This could include user guides, technical API documentation, FAQs, system manuals, technical specifications, training materials, and more.
  • Provide Product Support: Work closely with our product and development teams to translate technical specifications into user-friendly, understandable content. Play a key role in the product design process by ensuring user-centricity in the documentation.
  • Provide User Support: Develop documentation to aid our support specialists in troubleshooting and resolving issues. Create resources such as knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides.
  • Work on training material development: Assist in the development of effective training materials for clients. This includes writing scripts for video tutorials, creating slide decks for webinars, and drafting handouts for in-person training sessions.
  • Handle Quality Assurance: Review documentation to ensure it is clear, concise, and user-friendly. Perform ongoing updates to existing documentation to ensure they remain accurate and relevant.
  • Doing Continuous Improvement: Ensure the flow of improvements from e.g., Support to Documentation updates to Training Material updates is working smoothly and accurately.
  • Champion the adoption of agile methodologies and technical solutions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization
  • 5+ plus years of experience in technical writing, ideally within the financial sector
  • Proven ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts concisely
  • Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills, e.g., with release notes or API documentation
  • Strong research skills, able to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies
  • Experience working with documentation tools like Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and Confluence
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as DITA, Adobe Experience Manager, MadCap Flare, Office Suite, etc.
  • Experience with markdown and markup languages such as DITA, HTML, XML, CSS
  • Strong conversational knowledge of technology principles, including APIs, Swagger, SDKs, authentication, programming languages and version control.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science) preferred
  • Working knowledge of Jira and/or Jira Align as well as document version control systems
  • Familiarity with technical writing standards and style guides.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to details
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to handle constructive criticism and feedback
  • A self-starter who can work independently, but also collaborate effectively with teams in an agile setting
