Job Overview:

The Principal Data Architect is responsible for the design, develop, and implement end-to-end data solutions in AWS supporting our extraordinary company growth projections and digital experiences vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive an architectural vision to support the continued aggressive growth of The LPL Fintech product suite

  • Partner with Engineering and Product to successfully deliver FinTech products from design to production in defining data technology strategy and roadmaps.

  • Develops well architected DOMAIN DRIVEN solutions, optimized for cost, operations, performance, reliability and security.

  • Develops and drives the cloud data strategy along with the introduction of new emerging technologies and public cloud services, cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring strategies.

  • Designs target state Cloud Architecture, partnering with other areas, such as Cloud Solution Architects, Cloud Infra Architects, and Cloud Engineering and Development teams.

  • Develops Reusable Patterns for Data application development in the public cloud to deploy and modernize applications, provide governance around adoption, and affect application development teams on roadmaps and designs.

  • Develops short- and long-range product and service strategies and plans. Oversees the implementation of operating plans for specified area of responsibility.

  • Reviews the competitive marketplace and makes adjustments to operational activities based upon identified information.

  • Leads in a dynamic environment and produces high-quality work under tight deadlines.

  • Mentors and works with Cross function Data Engineers and architects to bring them up to speed on cloud architectures, including modern programming languages, micro services and container based deployments.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of hands-on design and implementation experience in data architecture landscape, including migrating legacy platform to big data platform.

  • 10+ years of experience in designing and building SQL, no-SQL, big data, GraphDB, APIs, Kafka, and streaming solutions.

  • 10+ years of experience in the following technical disciplines: application development, middleware, database management or operations, security, integration

Core Competencies:

  • Proficiency in defining current and future state Data Architecture models

  • In depth knowledge of cloud data platforms AWS(Primary) and Azure(Secondary)

  • Experience in migrating monolith on-prem applications to cloud using Refactoring, Rearchitecting and Re-platforming approach including 12 factor

Preferences:

  • More than 10+ years of experience in designing and building SQL, no-SQL, big data, GraphDB, AWS glue, Lamda, Prostgress,APIs, Kafka, and streaming solutions is highly preferred

  • AWS Data Architecture Certifications

  • Cloud Architecture Certifications


Pay Range:

$150,640-$225,960/year


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
