Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated VP of Data Operations to join LPL. In this role you be responsible for data management (validating incoming data sources, data integration/compilation, distribution), data quality/accuracy (ensuring best-in-class data quality/accuracy; building/tracking data accuracy KPIs for insights for product/data Eng. teams), governance (establishing batch/ETL job lineage processes/ensure adherence to policies), data operations/controls (ensuring operational controls are in place/working with the Data Eng), and overseeing the integration of all inbound/outbound data sources.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a Data Ops team, ensuring their growth as they progress through their career

  • Operational management of data processing lifecycle, identifying actionable improvements and optimizations to support growing complexity and demand

  • Hands-on approach to user community data/report training and problem/resolution management

  • Monitor, triage, and assign data operations work captured through IT service desk, IT Demand intake, IT Business Partner, and other data and analytics demand intake channels

  • Creating frameworks and methodologies for deploying Data Ops solutions

  • Leading development of roadmaps for deploying automation solutions

  • Playing a key role in defining the technology strategy for data management

  • Contributing to the vision and strategy for the Data Ops practice, including setting development roadmaps, participating in new business, and identifying growth or efficiency opportunities

  • Leading, driving, and promoting a culture of process documentation, strong data governance and operational efficiencies

  • Integrate reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics packages and related information for technology team leadership

  • Identify alternative ETL solutions when it becomes evident that existing hardware/software solutions would not handle a large amount of data

  • Coaching and mentoring team members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of 10+ years’ experience in increasing levels of responsibility managing data operations, ETL, Batch, etc. preferably in the financial services industry providing high-performing, high-availability solutions

  • Experience with commercial scheduling tools including AutoSys, BMC Control M, or similar tools

  • Expertise in AWS including Airflow supporting cloud-based ETL and Real-Time data pipelines and frameworks

  • Experience in managing, developing, and building a team to support current state and future data processing needs

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact across the IT and business organization, working effectively to achieve results.

  • Demonstrated ability to build bench strength and to delegate authority

  • Assertive but diplomatic with the ability to prioritize workload and to perform in a high-pressure environment Effective communication, presentation and leadership skills

Preferences:

  • Experience with ServiceNow modules including Incident, Service Request, Change, Problem, Knowledge Management, and reports

  • Experience in overseeing a near/offshore Managed Services Vendor


Pay Range:

$134,120-$201,180/year


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
