Job Overview:

The Retirement Consultant is an ERISA-qualified retirement plan specialist with a strong background in consultative sales. This role involves consulting Advisors on improving business processes through the adoption of Retirement Partners’ platforms and solutions. The ideal candidate is results-oriented, familiar with the qualified retirement plan industry, and can assist Advisors in driving net new asset growth to meet both the Advisor and departmental revenue objectives.


The Retirement Consultant is expected to provide timely, accurate, and actionable guidance to Advisors and their teams, demonstrating a commitment to providing support excellence. This includes but is not limited to the following:

Sales & Practice Management

  • Oversees a territory in providing business practice improvement and solution consulting, proactive Advisor outreach campaigns; new plan and/ or book of business acquisition support, record/ track engagement and support activities and sales achievements within Salesforce CRM, assist with managing the Retirement Consulting team’s general inbox.

Advisor Engagement and Program Adoption

  • Development and execution of Advisor engagement and communication campaigns around LPL RP programs via the following methods: daily outbound calls, emails, scheduled meetings, virtual study groups, group conference calls, etc. with the goal of achieving Advisor GDC growth and meeting department net new asset minimums.

Advisor Training and Education

  • Collaboration with provider partners to facilitate educational webinars, distribute educational material, conference participation such as the annual LPL Focus conference, Retirement Partners annual conference, regional events, workshops, etc.

  • Facilitate industry focused webinars, training, and education.

  • Interface with various departments outside the retirement partners division to assist Advisors with resolving challenges affecting their practices.

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial services

  • 3+ years in the Retirement Plan industry


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Series 7/ 66 or 65 licenses

  • AIF, CPFA, PPC, CFP designations

  • Consultative sales experience, an understanding of ERISA fiduciary standards

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Virtual conference mediums

  • Works independently, with little supervision to drive results; self-accountable

  • Consultative sales; capable of presenting in a virtual or live setting

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly organized; ability to prioritize competing initiatives, problem-solve.

  • Works well in a team environment; collaborative

Pay Range:


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. This position is also eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
