Job Overview:

The SVP, Field Management Operations role is part of LPL’s Field Management leadership team and reports into the Head of Field Management. Field Management is comprised of five advisor/institutional business lines and three cross-functional execution verticals, including Field Management Operations. The mission of the organization is to be the accountable party that drives transformational outcomes for its clients: institutions, advisors, and end-investors.

As SVP, Field Management Operations, you will ensure strategic and operational coordination within the organization. You will have responsibility for the business management function and will play a key role in terms of shaping the organizational strategy for Field Management and leading cross-functional strategic initiatives.

The SVP, Field Management Operations also has responsibility for two discrete operational functions: Branch Operations and Employee Advisor Compensation. The Branch Operations team partners closely across business units (Corporate Real Estate, Technology, Procurement) and with third parties to establish and maintain the national branch office footprint for the organization’s employee advisor affiliations and other supported models. The Employee Advisor Compensation team administers incentive compensation for the organization’s employee advisor affiliations and provides training/support on compensation-related inquiries and resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Set direction and manage operating routines for both the Field Management leadership team and the broader organization – e.g., virtual meeting series, onsite meetings, communications

  • Help to define and assess progress against the organization’s business objectives and key results

  • Prioritize investments of time and resources, ensuring the organization as a whole is positioned to deliver on business objectives and achieve profitability targets

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives within the organization, structuring the work and engaging the appropriate business line leaders to define and execute against key business strategies

  • Support reoccurring and ad hoc requests for leadership updates; oversee management reporting

  • Lead the teams responsible for branch operations and employee advisor compensation to drive advisor satisfaction; support high-priority initiatives and escalations within the functions, as needed

  • Ensure consistency in terms of the employee experience; partner closely with HR and the leadership team on the organization's approach to firm initiatives (e.g., performance, annual engagement survey)

  • Develop and maintain strong connectivity with leadership in key partner organizations, including HR, Legal, Operations, and Finance in order to promote continuous improvement efforts

Requirements:

  • FINRA Series 7/66 (or equivalent); Series 9/10 or 24 preferred

  • Prior experience in business management, operations and/or strategy for a large organization; experience with capital planning and/or resource management, preferred

  • Highly strategic thinker with strong business acumen; capable of assessing complex problems, prioritizing key issues and focusing on relevant facts while maintaining a strong execution focus

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to leverage data to support decision making

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; able to frame issues visually and present material to the highest levels of the organization

  • Executive presence with a demonstrated ability to lead change and influence at all levels

  • Experience being a people leader; capable of motivating and developing employees

  • Comprehensive understanding of the wealth management industry with an ability to monitor and adapt, if needed, to industry dynamics, best practices, and trends

  • Ability to travel to branch offices and home office locations

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or similar advanced degree or industry certification a plus

  • 8 –10 years of experience in the financial services and/or wealth management industry

  • Experience working in both branch office and home office settings


Pay Range:

$167,500.00 - $279,100.00


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
