Job Overview:

LPL’s Security Architecture Engineering organization is looking for a talented professional to join a high-performing organization that is charged with supporting our Data Protection program. The VP, Enterprise Data Protection Leader within the Information Security organization will be responsible for initiating, formulizing, leading and driving an enterprise-wide data protection program to safeguard and secure organization’s sensitive data residing on-premises and on the hosted cloud platforms as applicable. This includes designing and building capabilities to classify, discover, identify protection methods, enforce protection & monitor data access throughout the enterprise. In this role, this individual will be the Data Protection product(s) owner, working with the information security leadership and key business stakeholders to help define the strategy and roadmap and influencing teams to deliver on this strategy across the enterprise. This is a leadership position that is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance including changes to the data protection capabilities & requirements to address current and potential future threats. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing and building effective data protection capabilities to protect and safeguard the organization's sensitive data at REST, in USE and in TRANSIT.

  • Manages the Data Protection security service within Information Security and ensures all capabilities, tools, and products are cataloged, maintained, appropriately dispositioned on the common capabilities, and learnings are incorporated into roadmaps.

  • Support all technical business initiatives regarding data engineering and architecture on both on-premises and public cloud platforms with an emphasis on Data Protection.

  • Acting as a subject matter expert to assist with solving enterprise problems, especially as it relates to the Data Protection security service.

  • Develops a strong Data Protection engineering excellence program focused on automation efficiency, and effective change management processes.

  • Leads a team of Data Protection engineers, providing people management responsibilities and ensuring to build a high-performance team to address the breadth and depth of technology requirements while promoting a superior teamwork culture across the team.

  • Creates, supports, assists with the development of standards, best practices, and guidelines for the organization's data security policies, and procedures.

  • Manage the data protection team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Collaborate with IT, legal, and business units to enhance data protection measures.

  • Develop and maintain a data governance framework to ensure data integrity and privacy.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of data protection practices.

  • Stay abreast of the latest data security technologies and trends, and implement new technologies as needed to enhance the organization’s data security.

  • Promote data protection awareness throughout the organization.

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy and reconciliation within reports and dashboards by reviewing, identifying, and resolving gaps and inconsistencies.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in an information security architect role

  • 10+ years of experience in a people management leadership role (as a security architect is preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience with regulatory compliance such as HIPAA, PCI, CCPA, GDPR and information security management frameworks (e.g., IS027000, COBIT, NIST 800, etc.)

  • 5+ years’ experience collaborating with technical team members, business analysts, and project/program managers to ensure a quality solution is delivered.

  • 4+ years’ experience with Scripting tools (Curl, Python, Glue, PowerShell)

Preferences:

  • Implementation and Architecture experience with Protegrity Data Protection Products.

  • Working experience with hosted cloud platforms such AWS, Azure & GCP.

  • Knowledge and experience with data protection vendor products available in the market.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of SharePoint, SQL, relational databases and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, MS Reporting Services and Excel.

  • Knowledge of current and emerging threats to data security.


Pay Range:

$154,900.00 - $258,100.00


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
