Job Overview:

The Senior Engineer, Information Security will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization against cyber threats. Your primary focus will be on identifying, comprehending, and deciphering, and investigating emerging threats. You'll work closely to help build a new cyber threat intelligence function while supporting the incident response and threat hunting teams. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and have an opportunity to cross-train with other subject matter experts to increase your skillset and enhance our overall security posture.

The Senior Engineer will be a key member supporting the Threat and Incident Response team, ensuring the most critical threats to LPL are understood and managed. This role is responsible for establishing new capabilities, enhancing existing ones, and performing day to day operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand and document their threat intelligence needs.

  • Develop and use collection processes to effectively monitor intelligence requirements.

  • Create and disseminate intelligence products such as newsletters, briefings, and RFIs to varying audiences including technical to executive personnel.

  • Leverage threat intelligence to identify, understand, and effectively communicate information regarding active and emerging threats to the organization.

  • Participate in Incident Response activities, including preparation tasks as well as response.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience of in cyber and/or military threat intelligence.

  • 5+ years of experience extracting actionable insights from threat feeds including closed and open source.

  • 3+ years of experience developing intelligence products.

  • 3+ years of experience in incident response or similar functions.

  • 3+ years of experience in threat intelligence or SIEM tools such as MISP, ThreatConnect, Splunk, or similar platforms.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills

Preferences:

  • Expertise in automation using scripting tools like PowerShell, Python, or Bash

  • Experience with multiple operating systems including Windows, Mac OS, and Unix/Linux

  • Background in the financial industry


Pay Range:

$97,700.00 - $162,900.00


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
