Role Overview:

New York Life is seeking a highly organized and innovative thinker to join our Group Benefit Solutions (GBS) Strategy, Solutions and Marketing (SS&M) Summer Internship program! Our 10-week program running from May 2024 to August 2024 offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As a summer intern, you’ll attend learning and development activities, gain insight into our business and how our company functions, and participate in additional networking opportunities.

This internship opportunity will be hybrid, located at our Chattanooga, TN office.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Product team at New York Life Group Benefit Solutions (NYL GBS). As a Product Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain insight on how we differentiate our products in the market to gain competitive advantage. You will work across many teams within the Product division, providing support in day-to-day initiatives and driving results. This internship is designed to provide hands-on learning through real projects and by working on a team of experienced leaders.

How You'll Grow:

  • Participate and/or lead initiatives tied to Group Benefit Solutions (GBS) Product organization.
  • Product management of inclusive GBS products (what we sell), GBS capabilities (how we deliver), as well as GBS experiences we provide (how we execute to those we serve).
  • Work involves cross functional partnership across multiple areas within the division and will provide exposure to many insurance functions: IT, Operations, Product, Finance, etc.
  • Opportunity for strategic minded individuals, who are self-starter, curious learners, and can drive results to support work across the organization.
  • Support the Product team in day-to-day operations.

What You'll Bring:

  • Must be a rising junior or senior at an accredited 4-year university or college with anticipated graduation date between spring 2025 and spring 2026, pursuing a degree in a Business-related field
  • Strong desire to learn and challenge abilities
  • Excellent collaboration and ability to work on a team
  • Ability to think strategically to solve an array of problems
  • Experience in leadership roles or participation in campus/community extracurricular activities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

Salary range: $21 per hour
