About the Opportunity

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Donor Relations the Assistant Director of Stewardship Content coordinates, organizes and manages content that is designed to augment and enhance the level of donor reporting and engagement for stewardship in support of the University Advancement work. The assistant director of stewardship content will leverage the content management system to support the donor relations team as well as serve as a partner to fund management team. This position ensures that current, complete, and appropriate information is available to donor relations team in a managed and organized fashion to assist in optimizing their portfolios of reportable funds, impact reports, individual stewardship and engagement plans or any customized reporting needs in support of university fundraising goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in advancement or related experience required.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, ability to manage simultaneous projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Experience with researching, writing, and editing development and alumni relations materials.
  • Creativity and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Sharp interpersonal and interviewing skills that would allow us to pull in and feature content from a variety of experts and sources in the field.
  • Ability to work with a team as well as independently and to be proactive in seeking solutions to challenges.
  • Experience working in a writing and design environment preferred.
  • Ability to strategically conceive of and execute communication strategies to most effectively cultivate and steward donors.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, ascend or other CRM platforms preferred.
  • Experience with iFolio, mythos or other donor communications and reporting platform

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education advancement
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and ethics of fundraising
  • Knowledge of digital engagement and best practices preferred.
  • Experience with content distribution, not just creation, with shareable metrics around growing audience and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Content Management

  • Formulate a cross platform content strategy.
  • Define technology roadmaps to align with donor communications and reporting platform and organizational needs.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar that schedules all aspects of the creation and delivery of content throughout the year for donor reporting.
  • Function as a subject matter expert by understanding digital content goals, content management strategy and best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and organize tagging system for content.
  • Ensure a diverse array of design and content is utilized to execute content strategies for intended audiences.
  • Provide strategic direction to the donor relations team as well as, business partners informing the
  • Ensure consistency and refine quality of content across donor reporting and communications.
  • Create experimentation frameworks to test content and language hypotheses in donor communications and reporting platform.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Project Management

  • Provide strategic direction to streamline business processes.
  • Interpret and convey digital performance data to business partners to inform of the use and engagement.
  • Own, update, and expand content calendar in alignment with organizational goals and activities.
  • Collaborate closely with donor relations reporting team to comprehend project requirements and seamlessly integrate solutions within the existing technological landscape.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, articulating technical solutions and offering guidance on best practices to finished product.
  • Define and monitor metrics to help determine the success of content initiatives
