About the Opportunity

Summary

The Donor Relations Associate will provide a high level of support to the Donor Relations department in Advancement and serve as a convener for Development Associates across the division.


Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Donor Relations, they will contribute to the scholarship stewardship reporting program while also leading their own projects with minimal supervision. In support of the scholarship reporting program, the Donor Relations Associate will attend all team meetings; request, track, download, and proofread student thank you submissions; and assist with the preparation of narrative reports for printing and emailing. The position will coordinate with departmental Marketing Cloud partners to ensure outreach process runs as scheduled. Weekly, they will utilize the Scholarship Manager platform to find new scholarship award data. They will also be a liaison to students whenever donor/student meetings are requested. They will conduct research for inclusion in scholarship updates when required and maintain the hygiene of stewardship data in Ascend. They will prepare special stewardship touches, such as Where Are They Now reports, for top scholarship donors. They will also partner in data cleanliness efforts and upload narrative reports to the system.

In consultation with the Donor Relations department, they will be the lead convener of the Stewardship Working Group, performing such functions as welcoming new members, handling meeting logistics, and developing programming for this group of Development Associates who perform stewardship functions at the colleges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience required.
• At least two (2) years of related office or customer service experience, preferably in higher education and/or development.
• The successful candidate will have an interest in Advancement as a profession, possess a customer service mindset, be excited to learn new skills, be incredibly organized, and demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to prioritize, work well with shifting deadlines, and be pro-active, flexible, and collaborative.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of professional office procedures and demonstrate good judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills. Must be willing to assist on an as-needed-basis in a variety of administrative tasks.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel a must. Familiarity with Adobe Express, Ascend or Salesforce, iFOLIO, and InDesign a plus.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Scholarship Narrative Stewardship Program

Support process to request, track, download, and proofread student thank you letters, including by updating Marketing Cloud. Prepare narrative reports for printing and emailing. Utilize provided project management tools to find assignments and track work in Ascend. Liaise with students when donor/student meetings are requested. Conduct research for inclusion in scholarship updates when required and maintain the hygiene of stewardship data in Salesforce. Prepare special stewardship touches, such as Where Are They Now reports, for top scholarship donors.

Ascend

Maintain data cleanliness in Ascend by updating designations when required. Upload narrative reports to the system.

Stewardship Working Group

Orient new Development Assistants and Development Associates to the work done by Donor Relations and advise them on how their roles intersect with our work. Schedule and program regular meetings of the Stewardship Working Group and respond to the members’ needs.

Other Responsibilities as Needed

Run reports, staff events, etc.
