About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Lieutenant of Events and Administration, The Manager of Accreditation and Administration will lead critical efforts to ensure compliance with CALEA accreditation standards, manage the recruitment and selection process, and perform key administrative functions. This role is vital to maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of the department, contributing to its continuous improvement in law enforcement standards.

Responsibilities:

Accreditation Management

  • Manage and oversee the CALEA accreditation program to ensure compliance with all applicable standards
  • Gather and organize proofs of compliance
  • Write, revise, and disseminate departmental policies and procedures
  • Develop and submit reports, reviews, and analyses
  • Prepare the department for annual CALEA assessments

Staffing, Recruitment, and Selection

  • Maintain the Department's staffing matrix
  • Create detailed job descriptions and handle position postings
  • Review applicants and schedule interviews
  • Lead the onboarding process for new employees
  • Manage the employee offboarding process
  • Hire student employees
  • Serve as a liaison with POST, MSP, and MPTC
  • Oversee the internal police academy process

Police Academy

  • Oversee Police Academy budget
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Manage payments to Police Academy instructors and vendors, ensuring timely processing of invoices.

Records

  • Oversees all departmental personnel and training records
  • Serve as the administrator for Guardian Tracking software, ensuring proper use and data entry.

Administrative

  • Act as the department’s SharePoint administrator, ensuring proper use and organization of files
  • Maintain SSPO police powers for sworn officers
  • Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Criminal Justice, Organizational Leadership, or Public Safety, Administration
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in security, public safety, or law enforcement, with an emphasis on accreditation management
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, including a criminal history check, drug screen, and fingerprinting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Leadership, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in law enforcement accreditation management
  • Knowledge of law enforcement policies, procedures, and practices, especially related to accreditation and compliance.
  • Proficiency in PowerDMS and Workday strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in ARMS CAD/RMS, Guardian Tracking, MS Excel (including Pivot Tables/V-Lookup), and MS SharePoint preferred
  • Familiarity with higher education institutions and their administrative, academic, and research operations preferred.
