JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Student Accounts Canada, the Student Accounts Canada Senior Administrator, located in Vancouver, will serve as a lead in the Students Accounts area in the rapidly growing Northeastern Toronto and Vancouver campuses including:
  • Serve as lead to monitor of responses to student cases in Service Now, including monitoring staff responses for accuracy and customer service levels.
  • Serve as the lead for all fund application and refunds of approximately 1000 private student loans annually.
  • Serve as lead for using the US monthly federal reserve currency conversions to calculate the conversion of USD to CAD to issue student refunds correctly.
  • Assist with any billing set up/activity for all bills assessed, assist with 3rd party activity, assist with collections activity, student refunds and work within CIBC, Financial Force, Banner, and any other Student Accounts related functions.
  • Reconcile all student accounts related to payments and billing.
  • Serve as lead on graduation clearance, holds and hold clearance as well as other balance clearance and collection activity.
  • They will collaborate with participating university partners to support student service and enrollment goals.
  • Assist with the creation of training and SOPs, as well as research, provide data and assist in various process improvement strategies.
  • Investigate areas of concern and account anomalies to identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Assist with or serve as lead for any projects related to Student Accounts or general Student Financial Services including OSAP, BC and other Provincial aid.
  • Ensure the highest level of regulatory compliance for all student financial assistance programs in all Provinces of Canada.
  • Work within all provincial aid portals, including certification of aid eligibility using the regulations of the applicable province with primary focus on Ontario and British Columbia aid.
  • Advise students of payment options, billing, and other Student Account related activities
  • Represent Student Accounts at orientations, open houses or other events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required with 2 - 4 years of related experience in student accounts, bursar, financial aid or student personnel administration. Knowledge of Salesforce, Banner, regulations regarding student billing and payments, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Strong time management, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations. Experience with OSAP and other provincial student aid programs. Experience with project management preferred. Results and solutions oriented. Flexible work schedule required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead – Student Accounts 40%

Processing 40%
Advise students/families on all billing, payment and tuition processes. Advise students regarding outstanding balances and collection activity Reconcile all student accounts related to payments and billing. Serve as lead on graduation clearance, holds and hold clearance as well as other balance clearance.
Process student refund requests, reconcile accounts. They will collaborate with participating university partners to support student service and enrollment goals.
Create trainings and SOPs, as well as research, provide data and assist in various process improvement strategies.

Special Projects 15%

Student Account Activities 5%
