Summary

Field Shared Services - Wealth Operations is a growing team that provides operational investment support services to NM advisors. Wealth Ops continues to grow the volume of work produced and the number of financial representatives supported. To ensure optimal service, the Operations Manager plays a key role in leading the team to ensure quality deliverables are produced for subscribers within service level agreements, leads the team through change, and develops team members as services evolve and grow. Additionally, the Manager is accountable for measurement, reporting and achievement of Service Level Agreements with key business partners.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Leads the day-to-day operations of the area including proactively developing, recommending and implementing new procedures, ensuring goal attainment, and complying with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manages and holds team accountable to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) established with key business partners; initially this will involve creating how SLAs are measured and reported.
  • Builds an effective team committed to meeting departmental and organization goals. Fosters collaboration and creates a strong morale and spirit while hiring, coaching and developing staff.
  • Provides direction and ensures that role/process documentation is created and maintained by team members.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and leads team in implementation to drive efficiency and capacity.
  • Assesses team capacity and when resource shifts or changes are warranted and makes recommendation to leaders.
  • Executes on the operational aspects of one or more of the home office sponsored programs/ initiatives related to the growth and viability of advisor practices, and maintains working knowledge of all supported by the team.
  • Assists with setting strategic direction, managing financial resources and developing the team’s annual operating plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on business, or other related areas.
  • Experience managing and developing professional level staff.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams to implement repeatable, yet flexible documented approaches to executing work.
  • Ability to integrate workforce skill sets with work processes, structure, information flow and decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically to include ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately, broad knowledge and perspective; ability to articulate and paint credible pictures and vision of operational approaches.
  • Experience independently leading and executing complex projects with cross-departmental impact.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to success in the role, including excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to integrate workforce skill sets with work processes, structure, information flow and decision making to enhance an operations environment.

Compensation Range

Pay Range - Start:

$75,180.00

Pay Range - End

$139,620.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
