Reporting to the Assistant Director, Marketing Operations & Planning, you will be responsible for driving and supporting a portfolio of work, in support of the Office of the CMO. This work includes keeping the marketing department appraised of important updates and projects via vital communication channels, supporting the department’s annual internship program and managing relationships with associations and organizations that we lean on for industry learnings and professional development. The role is focused on execution, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking and a propensity to connect dots while also driving flawless execution. Candidate is a strong writer, communicator, and project manager.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Operations support: Work directly with Asst. Director to prep for and coordinate key marketing meetings, including department All-Hands, and communications, including the department’s monthly newsletter. Attending meetings, conducting surveys, documenting follow-up items and resolving, as needed.

  • Communications support: Collaborate with Asst. Director to support the Office of the CMO in preparing briefing documents, talking points, memos and PowerPoint presentations as needed, in alignment with business strategy and corporate communications messaging/materials.

  • Marketing department “people/team” support: Help support the “people” needs of the function, including facilitating learning agendas, supporting the department’s summer internship program, assisting to maximize association partnerships and membership benefits, and assisting in engagement efforts, rewards / recognition, and more.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in marketing, communications, or related field.

  • 1+ years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage low- to mid-complexity assignments.

  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office 365, Excel capabilities, SharePoint.

  • Written (memo and Powerpoint) and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong team player mentality with a willingness to assist on other programs as needed.

  • Professional, energetic, personality who embraces disruption and challenges the status quo.

  • Interested in a career path in Marketing Operations.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$51,170.00

Pay Range - End:

$95,030.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
