The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for legal professionals seeking to expand their careers who are interested in gaining fast-paced professional experience with a national law firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • File and organize paper and electronic documents
  • Process daily incoming and outgoing mail
  • Provide coverage for receptionist; answer phones
  • Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing with the courts
  • Drafting and filing documents with the SOS
  • Search and retrieve information from court-related databases as well as other online sources of case information
  • Determine, prepare and organize materials needed for expert witness review
  • Communicate with experts, including sending them materials, obtaining their files, and discussing logistics related to their involvement with the case
  • Prepare basic removal documents
  • Prepare copies of CDs, flash drives and other external storage devices
  • Document management and organization.
  • Schedule conferences and depositions; maintain attorney calendars.
  • Manage bills for third party vendors, process check requests and follow-up with account.
  • Experience with discrimination claims, civil litigation and trials

Qualifications

  • Experience in a law firm setting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Kofax PDF or similar program
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2007 (Word, Outlook, Excel)
