This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.

The Position

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of New York
  • 3+ years defending personal injury claims venued in NY Supreme Courts
  • Experience with Labor Law 200, 240(1), and 241(6), premises liability claims
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Professional written work product, with the ability to concisely explain what matters most and why for clients, courts and litigant counsel
  • Legal project management experience is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Claim investigation: client and non-party interaction with paralegal support to efficiently address what matters most
  • Understanding the anatomy to independently evaluate medical causation and interact with the medical profession
  • Conduct 50-h hearings
  • Conducting and defending depositions
  • Understanding and applying CPLR discovery rules, to oversee, evaluate and enforce external and internal party compliance
  • Settlement negotiations and ADR Forums
  • Regularly handle court appearances and conferences
  • Spearhead claim resolution goals and execute resolution strategies

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Pay Range

$135,000 - $185,000 USD
